Mike Dunn is throwing seeds in the minors for the Atlanta Braves
25-year old lefty reliever Mike Dunn came into this season as the Yankees’ #12 prospect according to Baseball America. He was part of the nice haul the Braves got in return for Javier Vazquez who is pitching awful for the Yankees this year. Dunn has pitched in 18 games (0 starts) in AAA-ball this year and he is 1-0 with 2 saves, a 0.72 ERA and a 1.04 WHIP. Dunn has only given up 16 hits in 25 innings pitched this year while whiffing 34 batters showing how dominating his stuff has been. Dunn made his major league debut for the Yankees last season working in 4 games (0 starts) in which he was 0-0 with a 6.75 ERA and a 2.00 WHIP. Even if Dunn doesn’t get called up by the Braves soon he could be excellent trade bait next month.
